The Board of Directors has already chosen the following projects for 2009:

 

Friendship Bangladesh

Friendship works in the chars (nomad islands) and riverbank areas of northern Bangladesh bringing essential basic services to the most inaccessible and hard to reach areas. They provide the only substantial medical facilities with two floating hospitals, the Lifebuoy Friendship hospital and the newly inaugurated Emirates Friendship hospital. As well as focusing on medical care, the organization focuses on the overall socio-economic development of the char population (health care, relief, education, Livelihood support).

Foundation Raoul Follereau

The foundation has been operating in Luxembourg for about 40 years now and began with a principal objective in fighting leprosy. Projects now encompass eradication of leprosy as well as other serious illnesses present in 3rd world countries, provision of medical materials, training of medical staff, hospitals etc.

Signis

Signis is a NGO which brings together communication professionals with the objective of promoting communication through all sorts of media. One of Signis' main objectives is to reduce the digital divide between "connected countries" and the rest of the world Signis provides and internet service via satellite that covers all Africa. Equipment and services are offered to hospitals, universities, communicates etc.

Alupse

Alupse is a Luxembourg asbl established in the 1970 by Dr. Seligman, a lead pediatrician at the Kannerklinik. The organization has principal objective of helping families with young children who are suffering from different types of abuse, neglect, violence, psychological and or sexual abuse. The association employs a number of social assistants, midwives, psychologists who accompany families and assist them in overcoming difficult times. In 2007, the program assisted 29 families with 51 children.

Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner

Kriibskrank Kanner Fondatioun brings psychological, moral and palliative support to children suffering from cancer. Since 2006, KPMG in Luxembourg has been sponsoring employees participating in the Luxembourg marathon in support of the Kriibskrank Kanner Fondatioun, our annual Christmas e-cards raise funds for the charity and certain staff members are also active within the organisation.
